Hello Sweetness! There’s a saying, “The grass is always greener…”
I can’t remember the rest. Is it ‘Across the fence, at your neighbor’s? …somewhere else?’ Whatever the rest of the saying is, you’ve maybe heard of it. Many times, we think if we had something else, life would be better.
I read an article years ago about people who had an illness being asked, would they, if they could, switch their ailments for another person’s. Interestingly, each participant kept their own. It was familiar. They knew how to deal with it. They knew if they traded, life wouldn’t necessarily be better…greener.
We all face pain. We each have times of considerable sadness to sometimes downright misery. Thankfully, these are usually short-lived. And if they last several years, the conditions may get resolved, or we discover how to create or see some rays of sunshine and happiness within the storms through our outlook toward life.
We can even water our grass to make it more green and become less focused on another’s green lawn. We can appreciate what we have, and nurture our days into more goodness, kindness, success in mini steps or even leaps and bounds if we so choose. In addition to watering my grass, I have also needed to pick weeds, and choose to plant flowers, herbs, and trees to make my garden, and my life, how I want.
In life, when we are feeling sensitive, we can use the balms of love and wisdom to help. We can learn more, be present to deeper insights, become more creative, even grateful from being proactive. From good actions, we become more resilient, enjoy our years more, and can help others when they go through tough times.
These are some of the goodness of being human… to create better moments, become more resilient, help each other.
And if we take the metaphor literally, and plant more flowers, herbs, trees, and pull weeds, well, these are also beautiful actions and help our earth!
Wishing you a great day! Now, where are the trowel and watering bucket? And how may I add more happiness within this day? Oh, the thoughts are rising from the heart, enjoy!
With love,
Sharon
